Day Services – Adult
DMH Definition of ID/DD Waiver Day Services – Adults are designed to foster greater independence, personal choice, and improvement/retention of self-help, socialization, positive behavior, and adaptive skills. Services are provided in a community-based setting. A central component of the service is to provide opportunities for individuals to become more independent, productive, and integrated in their community.
In everyday language: Day Services Adult is providing the support that an individual needs and request to help them have a meaningful day. Day Services Adult services are provided at one of our physical locations, Pascagoula, Picayune or Tupelo and extend into community settings. There the individual participates in activities related to domestic/self help skills, friends/community, vocational/work and leisure/fun.
